The Back Home Train

Synopsis :

The Back Home Train est un court métrage musical contant l’histoire d’un Ulysse moderne qui, après un long voyage, est revenu vivre parmi les siens. Il retrouve cet Océan qui, au gré des marées, a su le mener au large puis le ramener à bon port. Le voilà donc renouant avec une enfance éternelle rythmée par le bruit des vagues, au sein de laquelle l’Océan reste le plus merveilleux des terrains de jeu.

Jouissant de 12 années d’expérience dans l’univers des longs métrages, principalement à la mise en scène et au casting, le réalisateur Pierre Samolany a su affiner un regard original. Depuis une dizaine d’années, il explore la création de contenus digitaux afin de sublimer sa passion pour le skate et le surf.

The Back Home Train is a short musical film telling the story of a modern-day Ulysses who, after a long voyage, has returned to live among his own people. He is reunited with his beloved Ocean, which has taken him out to sea and back again. Here he is again, nestled in the hollow of his solar system, reconnecting with an eternal childhood punctuated by the sound of the waves, in which the Ocean remains the most wonderful of playgrounds.

With 12 years’ experience in the world of feature films, mainly in directing and casting, director Pierre Samolany has honed an original eye. For the past ten years, he has been exploring the creation of digital content to sublimate his passion for skateboarding and surfing.

Synopsis :

Le froid, les coups de vent et les vagues qui résonnent comme le tonnerre. Hanno, originaire d’Allemagne, Robin de Suisse, et Sander des Pays-Bas, tous liés au Nord-Ouest par la sauvagerie de l’Atlantique, traversent les tourbières, parcourent les chemins sinueux en quête des grandes et somptueuses vagues du nord-ouest de l’Irlande.

Cold weather, gale force winds & waves that sounds like thunder. Driving through peat bogs and tracks that only slightly resemble roads. These are the scenes an unlikely bunch of friends encounter in their search for fleeting moments in the big waves of the North-West of Ireland. Hanno from Germany, Robin from Switzerland and Sander from the Netherlands, all bounds to the North-West by the wild Atlantic.

The End of the World

Synopsis :

Maxime Chabloz est un Seafarer, un homme de la mer, un athlète polyvalent et amoureux du vent et de la glisse. Maxime embarque à bord de sa 2CV en direction du Finistère pour une aventure solitaire. Un voyage rythmé par les rencontres avec d’autres amoureux des flots, d’anciens gardiens de phare, des sportifs aguerris, des enfants nés des vagues, Ian Fontaine, Malo Jouanneau, Yann Quilfen.

« The End of the World » n’est pas simplement un voyage vers le bout du monde ; c’est aussi une ode à la mer, aux marins, une ode au Finistère, notre début du monde.

Maxime Chabloz is a Seafarer, a man of the sea, a lover of wind and glide. Often surrounded by the ocean,, this time he decides to set off alone on a unique journey to the end of the world.
Maxime sets off in his 2CV towards Finistère for a solitary adventure. It quickly becomes an introspective journey, punctuated only by encounters with other lovers of the waves, former lighthouse keepers and their descendants, people who, like him, are all united by a life dedicated to the sea.

“The End of the World” is not just a voyage to the end of the world; it’s also an ode to the sea, which for these men and women was a lifeline, and above all a reflection on the true essence of seafaring life.

Un film fort né du mouvement mondial d’indignation et de contestation qui suivit la mort de George Floyd en 2020.
